Keren E. Gesund

Relocating from Las Vegas Nevada, Keren E. Gesund, a graduate of University of California Davis School of Law, is licensed in Louisiana, California and Nevada.  Prior to partnering with Carrie H. Pailet, Keren was a sole practitioner at her firm, the Gesund Law Offices. She previously worked for a consumer protection law firm representing a number of national debt collection companies.

Having represented debt collection companies, Ms. Gesund is uniquely situated to understand both sides of the conflict, and prepared to address common mistakes made by debt collection agencies.

 

 

Carrie H. Pailet

In 2014, Carrie H. Pailet joined forces with Keren Gesund to form Gesund & Pailet, APLC.

Drawn to the multitude of issues facing our elderly population and with a desire to provide services that are both comprehensive and compassionate, in 2012 Carrie Pailet founded the firm of Carrie H. Pailet, APLC, in Metairie, Louisiana, where her area of practice focused on elder law, including estate planning and successions.

In addition to being an attorney licensed in Louisiana, she is also a licensed clinical social worker, where her area of practice has focused on the field of gerontology. Ms. Pailet is a member of the Louisiana Elder Law Task Force and serves on the boards of Louisiana Guardianship Services, Inc. and the Bruce J. Heim Foundation.

Ms. Pailet earned her B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her M.S.W. degree from Tulane University School of Social Work, where she served as a representative for the School of Social Work on the Graduate and Professional Student Association. Ms. Pailet earned her J.D. degree from Loyola University New Orleans, College of Law, where she was a member of Moot Court and Loyola’s Journal of Public Interest Law.

 

 

Alexander Douglas

Alexander DouglasAlexander Douglas is of counsel to Gesund & Pailet in the Rochester, NY office. A Dean’s List graduate of Cornell Law School, he is licensed in New York and Louisiana. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Douglas practiced at a consumer litigation defense firm and represented some of the largest debt collectors in the United States. Having represented these clients, Mr. Douglas knows how to find the legal mistakes that they often make.

Mr. Douglas earned his B.A. at the University at Buffalo and graduated summa cum laude. While in law school, he served as a summer clerk for the Hon. Michael A. Telesca, a U.S. District Judge in the Western District of New York. Mr. Douglas also volunteers with CLARO Buffalo, a nonprofit group that provides free legal advice to unrepresented debtors.
